Performing Arts Center and Middle School Classroom: Proposal: Curtis School

The Curtis Elementary and Middle School off Mulholland Drive in the upper Brentwood area of Los Angeles requested a proposal for a performing arts center consisting of a 480 seat proscenium theater with fly loft, music and dance studios, and supporting classrooms.
Teaming with John Sergio Fisher, we arranged the theater and studios around a new courtyard space allowing outdoor gathering and connecting the complex to the existing campus. The studio wing extends into the hillside allowing the roof to be used as a garden by students and integrating the building landscape.
