Harbor Hills Community Center
Built
1874 Palos Verdes Dr N, Lomita, CA 90717, USA
Known as of 2021 as the Harbor Hills Early Education center of the Child Development Consortium of Los Angeles, this complex was designed as a multi-purpose community center to house social, athletic, and supplemental educational programs. The design had childcare and related programs, teen programs, community sports, senior meals programs, and other family needs programs. The age range of the users for design was, accordingly, very large, accomodating young children to senior citizens.
The building was split into two separate geometric components housing different functions: the larger section includes a gym, sports hall, multi-purpose rooms, restrooms, and offices. The smaller building contains the childcare center, kitchen, staff offices, and a LA Sheriff's department substation.
